INSTRUCTOR: Jennifer Volpe has been dancing for over 40 years, the last 30 in professional Ballroom and Latin Dancing. The love of music and playing music, but not being able to sing well, became the reason she used dance to express that love. Her movement is her voice. She previously owned an Arthur Murray Dance Studio and is the current owner of Jennifer Volpe Dance Company. She is a certified Ballroom and Latin instructor that has trained students in both social and competitive dancing helping all levels of dancers attain their personal dance goals, whether it be a first wedding dance or qualifying for Ballroom Dancesport Nationals. She has earned top teacher awards for both Pro-Am and Amateur Couples throughout her career, and many of her students have placed in the top 3 at competitions. As a choreographer she has worked with local theaters, colleges, high schools, and professional theaters including New York State Theater Institute and RPI, providing choreography for a variety of musicals and performances. Dance is her “tool” to help improve people’s lives. She applies her degree in Biology and Psychology in everything she teaches to connect to her students and train them through a better understanding of their bodies, both physically and emotionally, allowing students to explore their sense of self and empower them to build confidence and try things outside of their comfort zone. Jennifer is dedicated to creating a safe space for all dancers to feel comfortable trying new things and opening new doors of themselves through fun and exciting movement and music!
