Fall 2026 - Adv Beg Floorwork
Ages 18+ | 1+ year of recent contemporary floorwork experience required
Service Description
Take your floorwork beyond the fundamentals as you build the strength, coordination, and confidence needed for more dynamic movement. Designed for dancers who are comfortable with foundational floorwork skills, this class expands your movement vocabulary through more challenging transitions, inversions, slides, weight shifts, and momentum-based movement. You'll continue developing the technique, body awareness, and control needed to move fluidly between the floor and standing while refining the strength and coordination that support more advanced skills. Whether you're looking to deepen your contemporary technique or prepare for more advanced floorwork training, this class provides the bridge between foundational movement and the athletic, dynamic vocabulary of higher-level contemporary floorwork. PREREQUISITES: Dancers should be comfortable with foundational floorwork skills, including log rolls, X-roll variations, metatarsal jumps and slides, forward and backward shoulder rolls, and supporting their weight through their hands. ATTIRE: For comfort and safety, please wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees, as we'll spend time sliding, rolling, and moving across the floor. Leggings, joggers, long sleeves, and lightweight layers work well. Bare feet or socks are recommended, and clothing should allow you to move freely without restricting your range of motion. CLASS SCHEDULE: This 10-week session runs from Sept 27 - Dec 4. The price shown is for the entire session. OPTIONAL PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY: This fall, dancers enrolled in select classes will have the opportunity to perform in TDF Stage Sessions on December 4. Designed as a low-pressure performance experience, Stage Sessions gives dancers the chance to perform their class choreography on a real stage for an audience of fellow TDF dancers. There are no auditions, no additional rehearsals, and no tickets to sell. Your instructor will prepare your class piece during your regular class time. Participation is completely optional, making this a great opportunity for dancers who want to experience the excitement of performing while building confidence in a supportive community.
