Service Description

Take your hip hop foundation to the next level by developing the grooves, footwork, and movement quality that bring choreography to life. Designed for dancers with prior hip hop experience, this class focuses on refining lower-body technique while developing smoother, more intentional movement. Through progressive drills, rhythm exercises, and combinations, you'll strengthen coordination, improve weight transfers, sharpen footwork, and deepen your understanding of the grooves that define hip hop movement. Whether you're looking to feel more grounded, move with greater confidence, or build a stronger foundation for choreography, this class provides focused training in the skills that make every movement cleaner, more dynamic, and more musical. PREREQUISITES: Dancers should have prior hip hop experience and be comfortable with foundational grooves and footwork. Completion of Hip Hop Foundations or Intro to Hip Hop (or equivalent experience) is recommended. ATTIRE: Wear comfortable athletic or dancewear that allows you to move freely. Whether you prefer joggers, cargo pants, leggings, shorts, oversized tees, fitted tops, or your favorite training gear, choose clothing that lets you move confidently and express your style. FOOTWEAR: Please wear clean sneakers that are dedicated to dance class and have not been worn outdoors. We recommend sneakers with a smooth, flexible sole and minimal tread to allow for safe pivoting, quick footwork, and ease of movement. Please avoid shoes with thick soles or deep tread, as they can limit movement and increase the risk of injury. Visit our Recommendations page for suggested shoe styles and CLASS SCHEDULE: This 8-week session runs from Sept 27 - Dec 4, with no class October 22 or November 26. The price shown is for the entire session. OPTIONAL PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY: This class will have the opportunity to perform in TDF Stage Sessions on December 4. There are no auditions, no extra rehearsals, and no tickets to sell, and your instructor will prepare your class piece during regular class time. Participation is completely optional.
