Fall 2026 - Adv Beg Jazz Progressions
Ages 18+ | At least 1 year recent jazz technique experience required
Service Description
Take your jazz technique beyond the basics with a class designed to build confidence, precision, and performance quality. Perfect for dancers with a solid foundation in jazz, this class focuses on refining weight transfers, strengthening spotting for turns and traveling movement, developing smooth, grounded footwork, and improving directional changes within choreography. Through progressive across-the-floor exercises, center work, and dynamic combinations, you'll continue expanding your technical vocabulary while building the control, musicality, and confidence needed for more challenging choreography. Whether your goal is cleaner execution, sharper transitions, or greater confidence in class, this technique-focused training will help you move with greater strength, clarity, and artistry. PREREQUISITES: Dancers should be comfortable with foundational jazz vocabulary, including ball changes, kick-ball-changes, pivot turns, kicks, passé skips, chassés, chaîné turns, piqué turns, and single pirouettes. ATTIRE: Wear clothing that allows you to move freely while helping you feel like your most confident dancing self. Leggings, joggers, dance pants, shorts, tanks, or fitted tees are all great options. Layers are encouraged to help you stay comfortable as you warm up. FOOTWEAR: Jazz shoes are recommended, but bare feet are welcome if you're just getting started. Visit our Recommendations page for suggested shoe styles and retailers. CLASS SCHEDULE: This 10-week session runs from Sept 27 - Dec 4. The price shown is for the entire session. OPTIONAL PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY: This fall, dancers enrolled in select classes will have the opportunity to perform in TDF Stage Sessions on December 4. Designed as a low-pressure performance experience, Stage Sessions gives dancers the chance to perform their class choreography on a real stage for an audience of fellow TDF dancers. There are no auditions, no additional rehearsals, and no tickets to sell. Your instructor will prepare your class piece during your regular class time. Participation is completely optional, making this a great opportunity for dancers who want to experience the excitement of performing while building confidence in a supportive community.
