Service Description

Take your tap technique beyond the fundamentals in a class designed to build confidence, precision, and rhythmic complexity. Perfect for dancers with a solid foundation in tap, this class expands on essential vocabulary through more challenging combinations, faster tempos, and increasingly intricate rhythms. You'll continue developing clarity of sound, coordination, musicality, and control while refining your technique and strengthening the skills needed for more advanced tap choreography. Whether you're looking to sharpen your footwork, improve your timing, or challenge yourself with more dynamic combinations, this class will help you continue growing as a tap dancer. PREREQUISITES: Dancers should be comfortable with foundational tap vocabulary, including shuffles, paradiddles, flap heels, cramp rolls, two-count riffs, and other introductory tap skills. ATTIRE: Wear comfortable dancewear or athletic clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Leggings, joggers, shorts, fitted tops, or tees are all great options. FOOTWEAR: Split-sole or full-sole tap shoes are recommended for this class. We do not recommend character shoes or buckle tap shoes. Visit our Recommendations page for suggested shoe styles and retailers. CLASS SCHEDULE: This 10-week session runs from Sept 27 - Dec 4. The price shown is for the entire session. OPTIONAL PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY: This fall, dancers enrolled in select classes will have the opportunity to perform in TDF Stage Sessions on December 4. Designed as a low-pressure performance experience, Stage Sessions gives dancers the chance to perform their class choreography on a real stage for an audience of fellow TDF dancers. There are no auditions, no additional rehearsals, and no tickets to sell. Your instructor will prepare your class piece during your regular class time. Participation is completely optional, making this a great opportunity for dancers who want to experience the excitement of performing while building confidence in a supportive community.
