Fall 2026 - Int/Adv Street Jazz
Ages 18+ | 2+ years of recent jazz & hip hop experience
Service Description
Where jazz technique meets commercial choreography. Designed for dancers with a strong technical foundation, this class blends the grooves and textures of hip hop with the precision, lines, and dynamics of jazz to create movement that is energetic, musical, and expressive. You'll develop stronger musicality, cleaner textures, more intentional grooves, and greater confidence navigating choreography that shifts seamlessly between powerful, grounded movement and sharp technical execution. Throughout the session, you'll refine performance quality while learning choreography inspired by today's commercial dance industry, challenging you to move with precision, versatility, and style. PREREQUISITES: Dancers should have a solid foundation in jazz and hip hop technique, be able to count music, and be comfortable learning intermediate+ level choreography at a faster pace. ATTIRE: Wear comfortable athletic or dancewear that allows you to move freely. Whether you prefer joggers, cargo pants, leggings, shorts, oversized tees, fitted tops, or your favorite training gear, choose clothing that lets you move confidently and express your style. FOOTWEAR: Please wear clean sneakers that are dedicated to dance class and have not been worn outdoors. We recommend sneakers with a smooth, flexible sole and minimal tread to allow for safe pivoting, quick footwork, and ease of movement. Please avoid shoes with thick soles or deep tread, as they can limit movement and increase the risk of injury. Visit our Recommendations page for suggested shoe styles and CLASS SCHEDULE: This 10-week session runs from Sept 27 - Dec 4. The price shown is for the entire session. OPTIONAL PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY: This fall, dancers enrolled in select classes will have the opportunity to perform in TDF Stage Sessions on December 4. Designed as a low-pressure performance experience, Stage Sessions gives dancers the chance to perform their class choreography on a real stage for an audience of fellow TDF dancers. There are no auditions, no additional rehearsals, and no tickets to sell. Your instructor will prepare your class piece during your regular class time. Participation is completely optional, making this a great opportunity for dancers who want to experience the excitement of performing while building confidence in a supportive community.
