Service Description

Advanced Contemporary Floorwork at TDF is highly athletic, powerful, and agile with great attention paid to musicality and detail. Students in this class will work on choreography for our show, Full Out Fest, on June 7. LEVEL: This is an advanced level class, and it is required that participants have the skills noted above. A minimum of 2 years in contemporary, ballet or jazz technique as well as previous experience with contemporary floorwork and/or breakdancing floor moves and/or acro are required. Dancers in this class must also be committed to cross-training, weekly, outside of class in order to maintain or build the required strength. Cross-training can through activities such as Pilates, Gyrotonics, gym sessions or other strength-building exercises. Dancers without the required experience or the dedication to extra conditioning are encouraged to consider our Beginner Contemporary Floorwork class to prevent burnout and injury. ATTIRE: Long pants, sleeved shirt (t-shirt or long sleeved shirt), and socks STRONGLY recommended to help help avoid floorburn. Kneepads required. CLASS SCHEDULE: This 15-week session runs from Feb 1-Jun 7, with one class per week at the time noted. Day(s) off: WEEK of Feb 15, WEEK of April 5, DAY of May 25 PERFORMANCE INFO: This session is a performance class. By registering you are committing to the mandatory June 7 showcase & June 5 evening rehearsal. Attendance the final week of the session is mandatory. Our showcase, "Full Out Fest", is a ticketed event (dancers do not need a ticket to perform). Attire for the event requires a 2026 Full Out Fest commemorative t-shirt for $30 & black on bottom (to be discussed in classes). No performance fees, expensive costume purchase, or minimum ticket orders are required. We do offer limited free seating as well as ADA seating. Performing students get to watch the event during acts they are not in. ABSENTEE POLICY: We permit 2 absences, after which we require private lessons at our private lesson rate.
