Service Description

Open Style Isolations is an advanced beginner/intermediate class designed to help you move with precision, control, and physical awareness. You’ll focus on isolating individual body parts—head/neck, ribs, hips, legs, arms—and learn how to engage specific muscles to create clean, sharp, and articulate movement. Exercises will mix and match isolations, helping you coordinate multiple parts of the body sequentially AND simultaneously. You’ll also explore how to add musicality and texture to your isolations, responding to different accents, rhythms, and qualities in the music. This class is open to movers of all styles and will help you become a more physically aware, precise, and expressive dancer. LEVEL: This is an Advanced Beginner/Intermediate class designed for dancers with at least one year of recent experience. Dancers in ALL styles are encouraged to sign up! ATTIRE: Dance clothes and clean, dedicated to studio use only, sneakers. Shoes worn in from off the street will NOT BE PERMITTED. MUST BRING a clean change of hip-hop sneakers and switch into them after entering the studio. See our recommendations pages for links.
