Service Description

Open Style Musicality is an advanced beginner class focused on developing your ear and artistic interpretation of music. Participants will work with one song over two weeks at a time, creating movement to different musical layers within the same section—such as percussion, melody, or vocals. By shifting what you listen to, you’ll discover how sound inspires different textures, dynamics, and movement qualities. This class is open to movers of all styles and builds musical depth that enhances every genre of movement. LEVEL: This is an Advanced Beginner class - 1 year of recent dance experience recommended. Dancers in ALL styles are encouraged to sign up! ATTIRE: Dance clothes and clean, dedicated to studio use only, sneakers. Shoes worn in from off the street will NOT BE PERMITTED. MUST BRING a clean change of hip-hop sneakers and switch into them after entering the studio. See our recommendations pages for links. CLASS SCHEDULE: This 4-week session runs from Jan 4 through Jan 30. NOTE: There is NO class on Thursday, Jan 15 - that week's class will be held on Saturday, Jan 17 at 1pm.
