Service Description

Open Style Polyrhythms is an advanced beginner class focused on developing next-level coordination and musicality for dancers of any style. Dancers will learn how to separate rhythms throughout the body— for example: keeping the beat with your feet while the arms, head, or torso move to contrasting rhythms driven by lyrics, percussion, or other musical accents. This class builds rhythmic independence, control, and confidence while providing tools that transfer into every dance style here at TDF! LEVEL: This is an Advanced Beginner class - 1 year of recent dance experience recommended. Dancers in ALL styles are encouraged to sign up! ATTIRE: Dance clothes and clean, dedicated to studio use only, sneakers. Shoes worn in from off the street will NOT BE PERMITTED. MUST BRING a clean change of hip-hop sneakers and switch into them after entering the studio. See our recommendations pages for links. CLASS SCHEDULE: This 4-week session runs from Jan 4 through Jan 30. NOTE: There is NO class on Thursday, Jan 15 - that week's class will be held on Saturday, Jan 17 at 2pm.
