Winter 2026 - Floorwork Foundations

Service Description

Contemporary Floorwork Foundations is a class designed to build strength, control, and confidence in foundational floorwork movements. You’ll explore rolls such as log roll variations, develop strength and balance through weight on your hands with exercises like supported handstands, kick-ups, and cartwheels, work on weight through the tops of your feet with metatarsal jumps and slides, and practice inversions with forward & backward shoulder rolls. This class emphasizes proper technique, coordination, and body awareness, giving you the tools to move safely and fluidly while laying a strong foundation for more advanced floorwork. Open to movers of all levels, it’s perfect for anyone looking to refine their floorwork skills and gain confidence on the ground. LEVEL: This is a foundations level class - no experience in floorwork is required, yet previous contemporary/ballet/jazz experience is recommended. ATTIRE: Athletic attire that will allow for the instructor to check the alignment of your ankles, knees, hips, and ribs - preferably fitted. Make sure loose hair is securely pulled back from your face. Socks or bare feet ok. CLASS SCHEDULE: This 4-week session runs from Jan 4 through Jan 30. The price shown is for the entire session.
